Nordic Nature

"Nordic Nature" was the title of the arts and crafts assignment given to 10th-grade students at Sykkylven Lower Secondary School in the autumn of 2025.

The result is an exhibition featuring more than 80 linocut prints.

9 Jun – 16 Dec 2026

As part of the project, the students explored both imagery and printmaking techniques through linocut.

The Natural History Museum served as an important source of inspiration, and the students worked with both black ink and multiple colours. This resulted in a wide variety of finished prints.

The exhibition showcases how the students have worked creatively with nature as their theme and offers insight into both the process and the results of the project.

Textile artist Marit Akslen was responsible for installing the exhibition. She was impressed by the quality and diversity of the students’ artistic expressions.
